Fantastic Fungi

There’s an entire world beneath our feet and it’s been here long before any of us inhabited this planet and will be here long after. “We brought life to earth. You can’t see us but we flourish all around you, everywhere…in everything…and even inside you! We are the oldest and youngest, largest and smallest, we are the wisdom of a billion years, we are creation, we are resurrection, condemnation, regeneration…we are mushrooms!!

The fungus is it’s own kingdom all together, full of magic and mystery…it holds the consciousness of natures connection to all living things. …over 1.5 million species…6x more than plants…of all those species of fungi, about 20,000 produce mushrooms!

The beautiful new film “Fantastic Fungi” explores the magical world of fungi and their power to heal, sustain and contribute to the regeneration of life on Earth. I personally began taking Host Defense Mushroom supplements last year, the biggest selling mushroom supplements in the World! Paul Stamets created the brand because long ago he discovered the power of mushrooms and their use for a healthy body. Paul was introduced to mushrooms as a young boy by his brother John and from that moment, he was hooked! Self taught and now the author of several books, Paul plays in integral role in the film.

The movie is filled with breathtaking cinematography by director Louie Schwartzberg. Louie and his amazing team captured time lapse moments from deep in the forest of mushrooms evolving through many stages of their life. Nature unfolds before you eyes throughout the film.

The film touches on all aspects of mushrooms including their use in replacing dangerous pesticides to regenerating neurons in the brain. Take for instance Lions Mane mushrooms. With an appearance of icicles and a taste of shrimp and lobster, extensive research has confirmed that lion’s mane can literally regenerate your brain’s memory capacity and other cognitive skills, too because of their ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.

“We need to have a paradigm shift in our consciousness…what will it take to achieve that? We are not an individual, we are a vast network of molecules, energies, wavelengths, the inner connecdness of being is who we are.” Paul Stamets

“When we see it we understand it and when we understand it we care about it and when we care about it we’ll do something to save it. If we don’t get our act together….we’ll destroy those organisms, we’ll destroy ourselves.”

The song “Live Again” by Vincent Berry ii, Mike Jiminez, Miguel Jiminez, and Joshua Berry wraps the film perfectly.
