Vino Venue

Vino Venue is tucked away in the far left corner of Georgetown shopping center (right off i-285 and Chamblee Dunwoody road.)  This somewhat hidden gem in dining offers a comfortable plant laced patio and a nice warm atmosphere inside.  What sets this restaurant apart from others is the many wine vending stations where you can sample glasses of wine from expensive bottles and only pay for what you drink!

 

 

Once comfortably seated, you can order any bottle of wine in the wine shop (located inside the restaurant) and take it immediately to your table.  I ordered my favorite red blend “The Prisoner” and explored the menu.

 

Executive Chef Patric Good came to the table and suggested several Vino Venue favorites which we all agreed on. Starting with the Cajun Spiced Pork Rinds! Yes! Like it sounds and addictive (and spicy!)

We followed that up with the rich lobster mac and cheese which could be a small app in itself.  Pass on this so you can have room for other menu favorites.  (The thick cut fries with short rib is another treat but I personally found them as filling as the mac and cheese.)

The Pork Belly Quesadilla is delicious! Braised heritage farms pork belly, pickled green tomatoes, fontina, comeback sauce all combine to satisfy. These didn’t last long and a meal in itself.

The Vino Venue house Burger is awesome! Thick, juicy and at a great price point of only $9.

What’s equally as impressive? The Knife and Fork Fried Egg Sandwich! Hungover or not, this is the one! Served with over medium eggs, pimento cheese, tomato jam, pecan wood bacon, red onion, bibb lettuce, grilled sourdough that are melded together perfectly.  This is my new favorite!

Up next, yes there’s more! Pan Roasted Springer Chicken Breast with polenta, asparagus, sherry cream sauce find themselves loving each other on your fork.  (are you still drooling over the fried egg sandwich?!)

For dessert the homemade Georgia Peach Cobbler with buttermilk ice cream was fantastic.
