Undercover Boss

I just watched the Oprah Winfrey show today on the new CBS series “Undercover Boss” which premieres Sunday right after the Superbowl. I loved it! How many times have you had a job where your boss was either not doing their job and making everyone’s life miserable or doing a fantastic job and no one in upper management even noticed.   How about you and your performance?  Your co-workers?

C.O.O. Larry O’Donnell of Waste Management shows why he’s C.O.O.  when he goes undercover and works alongside fellow W.M. employees.  From cleaning toilets (his favorite job he said) to riding on the back of a Waste Management garbage truck, Larry experienced first hand what over 42,000 workers of W.M. go through on a daily basis.  It was an emotional experience for Larry and uplifting for me as a viewer to see what transpired while cameras rolled on Larry going undercover.  It was great to see employees speak openly and honest about the company thinking he was just “Randy” looking for a job.  The Reveal is even more heartwarming as Larry confronts his co-workers face to face as the actual C.O.O. of Waste Management!

Set your Tivo, DVR or watch it live.  And bosses take note, step up your game because you never know if your boss will be going “Undercover.”  (Where was this show on my last job!)

Watch “Undercover Boss” Sunday’s at 9 p.m. on CBS. <click>
